Working with manual focus lenses

The manual focus lens is alive and well. There's no reason why you can't use them on a K-7, as can be ably demonstrated with this aggressive crop of a 1:1 macro with a Vivitar 55mm f/2.8 macro from yesteryear.

There seems to be none of the ghosting that we worry about with digital macro with this lens, which is surprising seeing as it's a virtual antique next to the digital age.

Shot in RAW and processed with Adobe Camera RAW this shows admirably the resolution and capabilities of the K-7's sensor. The balance of the camera with the battery grip is superb and allows a very sturdy hand-held posture with good centre of gravity.

As a side ramble, I was out shopping for a camera for my wife over the weekend and couldn't believe how much a Nikon entry level DSLR felt like a plastic toy next to the K-7. I guess I've been spoilt.
